Abelardo L. Martinez passed away peacefully on March 1, 2023, surrounded by the warmth and love of his family. He was 74 years old. He was born in La Paloma, Texas on December 21, 1948.
Abelardo served in the United States Army and Texas National Guard for a combined total of 32 years and was a veteran of the Vietnam War and Desert Storm. On December 25, 1971; Abelardo married Maria Olivia Hernandez, the love of his life. He was a Carpenter most of his life and later retired to enjoy time with his wife and grandchildren. He treasured the beautiful memories he created with his family throughout his 74 years on this earth. He was a big fan of the Dallas Cowboys and an avid angler and Hunter. Most precious to Abelardo was his faith in God. He will be missed tremendously.
Abelardo is preceded by his Father Eloy Martinez; Mother Francisca Ledesma Martinez; and Brothers Samuel Martinez and Eloy Martinez Jr.
Abelardo is loved and will be missed by his Wife Maria Olivia; his sons: Abelardo Martinez Jr (Maria Guadalupe) and Amador Martinez (Stella Marie); his Honorary son: Roman Perez (Carroll Ann); Grand Children: Raven Samone (Noel Munoz), Abelardo Martinez III, Nathan Torres (Marleth), Olivia Adriana Martinez, Ernestina Margarita, Emiliano Jeronimo, Judy Guzman (David), Jasmine Mashia (Gary) Honorary: Grand Children: Roman Perez Jr, Ryan Alexander Perez; Great Grand Children: Armani, Noel Jr, and Abelardo Martinez IV; Living Siblings: Oberlin Fiscal (+Baciliza), Ramiro Martinez (Mary Jane), Victor Martinez (Felicitas), Juan Antonio Martinez, Jaime Martinez (Elena), Rosita Martinez, Yolanda Cano (Ramiro), Maria Eloisa Martinez, Isabel Hernandez, Helen Hernandez (Alberto), Olga Mejia, Martha Ann Martinez (+Alex), Teresa Sanchez (Martin); and many Nephews and Nieces.
