Celebration of Life of Adelina Deleon Jimenez

September 23, 1927 – August 5, 2025

Adelina Deleon Jimenez, 97, of San Antonio, Texas, passed away peacefully on August 5, 2025. She was born on September 23, 1927, in San Antonio, Texas. She was a cherished mother, sister, aunt, and friend whose life was a source of love, guidance, and inspiration to all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 73 years, Juan Jimenez, and her youngest son, John Jimenez Jr.

Adelina is survived by her daughters, Mary Alice Chavez (and her late husband David Chavez), Anna Alanis (and husband Pete Alanis), and Irma Carpinteyro (and husband Dr. Ralph Carpinteyro); her sisters, Irene Lopez and Martha Ramirez; as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces,nephews, and friends who will miss her dearly.

A devout Catholic, Adelina found joy and peace in reading her Bible and attending church regularly. Her faith guided her throughout her life and was a source of strength and comfort to her and her family. She had a radiant smile and a loving spirit, always blessing those around her with kindness and grace.

She was a dedicated member of Flores de Colores for over a decade. As the elder of the group, she wore the crown with honor and dignity, embodying the values and traditions the group cherished.

Adelina worked at Mexican Manhattan for 25 years, where she formed many lasting friendships. She was known for her warm smile, kind heart, and the respect and love she received from those she met.

Family and friends are invited to a viewing on Sunday, August 10, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a rosary at 6:30 p.m. at Castillo Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, August 11, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, followed by graveside services at San Fernando Cemetery II.

Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who loved her — her family, friends, and community — each carrying forward the kindness, strength, and faith she so gracefully embodied. She will be deeply missed and will remain in our hearts forever.
