Adolph Gasca Jr. - AKA "Bigalo" born December 6th , 1953, passed away the morning of
December 20th , 2021 at the age of 68 at his home in San Antonio, Texas. Living with a
heart condition and other medical issues in recent years, his courage, strong will, and
determination to live life to the fullest, kept him going until the end when God called
him home.
As a young boy born and raised in Chicago, Bigalo's love for music and innate talent for
drumming got him playing with cover bands at a very young age. The power to bring
people together from different ethnicities and cultures through his love of music is
something that still holds true to this day. Music from his favorite bands, The Beatles,
Tower of Power, Santana, James Brown and the many stars of Motown were some of the
bands covered during his time playing the drums with his bands.
Adolph worked as a printing pressman for many years in the Chicago area at various
companies until he retired in 2018 from Forest Envelope Co. and then relocated to
Texas. He would have to cheer on his beloved baseball team the Chicago Cubs from
afar, as San Antonio was his chosen retirement destination along with his childhood
girlfriend whom he reconnected with in recent years. He loved all his friends and family
old and new that he had in Chicago and treasured the times and memories they had
together. He will be missed tremendously.
He is also preceded in death by his parents, Adolph Gasca Sr. and Hilda Lozano.
Adolph "Bigalo" Gasca Jr. will be forever loved and missed and is survived by his partner
Lupe Vega, his son Daniel Gasca (Lorena); son Adolph Gasca III (Chantell); daughter
Sonia Gasca; 5 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; 8 sisters, 3 brothers, numerous nieces,
nephews, extended family and dear friends who felt more like brothers and sisters.
