Adriana "Audrey"
C. Alvarez
January 5, 1960 – March 8, 2022
On March 8, 2022, Adriana C. Alvarez, also known as "Audrey", was called to be with the Lord. She was born on January 5, 1960 in Hondo, Texas. Audrey was the 4 th child out of seven. She attended Las Palmas Elementary, Edgewood Jr. High, and graduated from John F. Kennedy Highschool.
Audrey is reunited in Heaven with her daughter Aries Isabel; parents Juan & Teresa Corona; brothers Orlando, Adrian, and Jeffrey Corona and sister-in-law Irma Corona. Audrey leaves her legacy in the hearts of her daughter Magdalena Sastre (David); grandchildren Giovanni, Ramsey, Nathan, Makehyla, Alejandro, and Anastacia Gatica; son-in-law Armando Gatica; brothers Sabino, John, Michael, and Matthew; sisters Adelaida Sanchez and Alma Farias; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
She enrolled in Health occupations in Highschool to study nursing. Her first job was at the age of 15 as a cashier at Ben Rodriguez supermarket, where she met her soon to be husband Benito Alvarez.
Benito and Audrey married after graduation and had their first daughter Aries Isabel. She worked part-time at Coronado Elementary and then took a full-time job at Burleson Elementary where her daughter attended. While at Burleson, she took computer classes and sharpened her skills to eventually become the computer lab instructor for the school. Soon after that she had her second daughter Magdalene.
While juggling two girls, a household, and school work, Audrey took another job at La Fiesta Supermarket. She worked days at the school and nights as a cashier. Life was not easy for Audrey, but she always managed to put God first in her life. She brought up her daughters in the Christian Faith, educated them through Christian schools, and attended Church on Sundays as a Family.
Audrey always made time for her grandkids; they were her pride and joy! She would go out of her way to remember and celebrate her grandchildren's birthdays and special achievements.
Audrey was always a joy to be around! She would always joke around and try to make her family laugh, even though she would just be coming out of Dialysis on her worst day. The Dialysis took a toll on her life, but she accepted it as her cross she had to bear. She embraced dialysis as if it was her career. She carried that Dialysis cross for 12 years.
Audrey lived her life to the fullest. She traveled to Hawaii twice, and went on a cruise to the Bahamas. She loved traveling to Corpus Christi and putting her toes in the sand. She loved the outdoors and saw the beauty in everything.
She was very generous with the little that she had. Most of the time she put others first before herself. Her heart of gold allowed her to help others without hesitation. Audrey touched many lives and hearts and instantly became friends to everyone she encountered. The love she had for her family will remain in our hearts for all eternity.
