It is with great honor and deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved father Agustin Rangel. Agustin Rangel passed away at age 64 on Tuesday, September 10, 2024, he was surrounded by family after losing his 9-year long battle to GIST (Stomach Cancer). He was born in Mexico on August 29, 1960.
He is survived by his loving wife Violeta De La Rosa-Rangel, his children Adriana Banegas (Juan), Gladys De La Rosa, Martiza De La Rosa (Napoleon deceased), Francisco De La Rosa and Joel De La Rosa; Grandsons, Napoleon De La Rosa (Ana), Oscar Herrera; great-granddaughter Maria De La Rosa; his 9 siblings Guadalupe, Juan, Virginio, Javier, Regino, Genoveva, Rosario, Rosadelia, Martha; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents Lucina Luna Segura and Benigno Rangel Soto.
Agustin loved to be barbecuing, doing yard work, building things, attending family gatherings, especially watching sports his favorite teams were the San Antonio Spurs and the Dallas Cowboys. He also enjoyed spending time with his family.
He worked for the city of San Antonio, Surlean Foods and Steve and Sons. Before he was diagnosed with GIST (stomach cancer) in 2015. He fought a long and challenging battle, but he never gave up. He went through 2 rounds of radiation, all while still thanking God for blessing him. He was a loving Husband, Father, Grandfather and great grandfather. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to his oncologist Team at Mays Cancer Center Dr. Sukeshi Patel Arora MD, PA Aluisa Arrellano and Dr. Neil Newman. Also, to the care team at Heart of Texas Hospice who showed my dad with the utmost compassion and loving care.
