Albert C. Luna

                                                    November 11, 1950 – July 4, 2026

It is with profound sadness, yet deep gratitude for a life beautifully lived, that we announce the passing of Albert C. Luna, who entered into eternal rest on July 4, 2026, at the age of 75. Born on Veterans Day, November 11, 1950, in San Antonio, Texas, Albert's life was one of service, faith, music, and unwavering love for his family.

Albert was the devoted husband of Veronica Luna, with whom he recently celebrated 50 wonderful years of marriage on May 2, 2026. Together they built a home filled with love, laughter, music, and faith that became the foundation of generations to come.

He was the proud father of Melody Medellin (Mark), Larissa Luna (Lee), and Albert Luna (Vanessa), who were the greatest joys of his life. He was also a cherished grandfather, Godfather and recently a great grandfather. Nothing made him happier than spending time with his family, cooking meals for them, making them laugh, and creating memories they will forever treasure.

Albert proudly served his country as a member of the United States Navy Show Band, combining his love of music with his dedication to serving our nation. Following his military service, he worked as an aircraft mechanic at Kelly Air Force Base, where he retired after many years of dedicated service.

Albert always strived to provide the best life possible for the people he loved. That determination led him to earn his degree from St. Mary’s University in 2001before beginning a second career as a music teacher, where he continued sharing his passion for music with the next generation. Music was more than a hobby—it was the heartbeat of his life. Albert was a gifted musician who could play multiple instruments, but the saxophone was the instrument through which his soul truly spoke. Those who knew him best knew that when he picked his up his saxophone, he wasn’t simply playing music- he was sharing a part of who he was. Throughout the years, he performed with numerous bands and orchestras, including Tortilla Factory, Bandango, Paul Elizondo Orchestra, Ruben Portillo Orchestra, and many others, bringing joy to audiences across South Texas.

Albert was a man of deep Catholic faith, quiet strength, and remarkable kindness. He had an infectious sense of humor and a gentle spirit that made everyone feel welcome. Whether he was playing music, sharing a meal he had prepared, telling a joke, or simply spending time with those he loved, Albert had a way of making every moment feel special.

He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Clemente and Olivia Luna, and his siblings, Laura King, Mary Martinez, and Larry Luna.

He leaves behind not only his loving wife, children, and grandchildren, but also an abundance of nieces, nephews, godchildren, extended family members, dear friends, fellow musicians, former students, and all whose lives were touched by his generosity, laughter, and music.

Although our hearts are broken by his absence, we find comfort in knowing that his beautiful melodies continue in heaven. His love, faith, laughter, and music will live on through the countless lives he enriched and the family who will forever carry his memory in their hearts.
