Alfonso M. Lopez passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on Thursday April 21 ^st , 2022 at the age of 87. He was born on April 10 ^th , 1935 in Lockhart, Texas. Alfonso is reunited in Heaven with loving wife Celia and mother Carmen Murrillo. He is loved and will be missed by his sister Carmen Nettleton, children Al(Amalia), Cynthia, Sandra(Steve); grandchildren Melissa, Laura(Richard Jr.), Valerie, Al IV, and Steve Jr.; great-grandchildren Nevaeh, Isaiah, Makaylah, Aaliyah, plus numerous other family and friends. He served as a sergeant in the United States Marine Corps. He retired from Alamo Cement Company of many years. Alfonso was a generous loving family man who loved doing yardwork and caring for his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A visitation will take place on Tuesday, May 17 ^th , 2022 at Castillo Funeral Home from 4:00pm to 8:00pm with a rosary to be recited at 6:00pm. Family and friends will depart from Castillo Funeral Home at 9:30am for a 10:00am mass at Our Lady of Good Counsel. Interment will follow at Fort Sam Houston National cemetery at 11:30am with military honors.
