Alfred T. Escalera was called home by the Lord on October 5, 2020, at the age of 96. He was born in San Antonio, Texas, on February 17, 1924. He is preceded in death by his wife, Consuelo Escalera; grandson, Daniel Escalera II; and great-granddaughter, Elisha Padilla. He is survived by his half-brother, Grady Walker; sons, Daniel Escalera (Cathy) and Albert Escalera (Dolores); grandchildren, Denise Aguilar, Michelle Villarreal, Yvonne Padilla, Kathy Padilla and Dereck Escalera; 10 great-grandchildren; and 3 great great-grandchildren.

Alfred was awarded the Bronze Medal during his service in World War II. He served his country proudly in the United States Army.
