Alfredo R. Uriegas went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 25, 2022 at the age of 73. Born on January 10, 1949 to Gilberto and Paula Uriegas, Alfredo was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and dear friend. He leaves behind his siblings, Nicholas Uriegas, Gilbert Uriegas, Maria Elena Arriaga, and Irma Guedea, his only daughter, Priscilla Uriegas McColley, his son in-law, Charles McColley Jr., grandchildren, Brandon Austin McColley and Alexis Jordan McColley, step-grandchildren, Steven Rene McColley and Justine Nicole McColley, great-grandson, Isaiah Jace Lira, and step-great-grandchildren, Christian Arriaga, Liam Arriaga, and Avery McColley.
A six-year military veteran, Alfredo served in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War, earning the Bronze Star for heroic service in combat. Alfredo retired after 30 years of civil service at Kelly Air Force Base to take care of his wife of 54 years, Ramona Estrada Uriegas. Alfredo enjoyed riding horses, traveling, and going to casinos with his loving wife and family. No matter where he went, he always knew somebody, and they always had great things to say about him. Alfredo, or tío Freddy as his family called him, was kind, passionate, funny, and caring to everyone who knew him. He will be greatly missed by his friends and family, and will forever be in our hearts.
