Alfredo Rivera Villarreal

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Alfredo Rivera Villarreal, age 80, of San Antonio, TX, who entered eternal rest on August 9, 2026.

Alfredo was born on December 23, 1945, in San Antonio, TX to Federico and Catarina Villarreal. He attended Lanier High School and went on to obtain a bachelor’s degree in Sociology. He also served in the United States Army for four years.

Alfredo was known for being strong-willed and determined with a spirit that could not be contained. Never one to follow the crowd, he charted his own course and approached life with independence and conviction. His journey was filled with challenges, lessons, and experiences that uniquely shaped his life. Beneath his tough exterior, he cared deeply for those he loved.

Alfredo is preceded in death by his parents Federico and Catarina Villarreal. He is survived by his sister, Angelina Gueverra; son Alfred Villarreal; grandson Allan J. Villarreal (Kimberly), and great-grandson Alexander J. Villarreal.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, from 4pm-8pm at Castillo Funeral Home. A final visitation will take place Thursday, August 20, 2026, with interment to follow at Fort Sam National Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to attend and celebrate Alfredo's life.
