Alvaro M. Ortiz, 88, widower of Maria Elena S. Ortiz, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 24, 2024, at his residence in San Antonio, Texas. He was born on February 22, 1935, in Palau Coahuila MX, a son of the late Dolores Mireles Espinosa and Felipe Ortiz Garcia.

In addition to his wife Maria Elena S. Ortiz, and parents Dolores Mireles Espinosa and Felipe Ortiz Garcia, he is also preceded in death by three brothers, Pedro Ortiz, Luis Ortiz and Gregorio Ortiz.

Family members include seven children Abel (Elizabeth) Ortiz, Julie Ann (Joe) Perez, Elizabeth Rocha, Alvaro (Maria B.) Flores, Ruth S. Ortiz, Saul Sepulveda and Elizabeth O. (Armando) Laurel; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; siblings, Jose Maria M. Ortiz, Manuel M. Ortiz and Socorro O. Lopez; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

The family will receive guests at Castillo Funeral Home on Friday, February 9, 2024, from 9:00 am until 11:00 am for visitation. A chapel service will be conducted at 11:00 am with burial to follow at San Fernando Cemetery II.
