Obituary

Amalia Vera Flores passed away on January 30th, 2022 she peacefully went to be with our Lord in the evening surrounded by her family.  Amalia was born on January 2nd, 1948 in Rio Grande City, Texas.
Amalia lived in the small town of La Casita where her father owned a small convenience store which she worked until she had her first job at the Valley Mart grocery store.  She moved on to take a job at the bank in to Rio Grande and later moved to San Antonio, Texas in 1976 where she continued to work for First National Bank it later changed names several times finally ending in Bank of America where she serviced 32 years of service and retired.
Amalia got married to Alvino Flores late in life but they enjoyed 18 years of marriage together.  She enjoyed her retirement to the fullest with travel and cruises. Her greatest joy for the last three years was being called "grandma" by Emily and Jacob who thru much love were her niece and nephew but,  to them she was grandma.
Amalia is proceeded in death by her parents Jose Maria and Paula Vera, and 8 siblings. She is survived by her husband Alivino Flores, daughter Yanira Myrea Vera, 2 sisters Lupita Contreras (Wence), Donna (Chito), stepchild Debbie Huerta (Anthony), and step grandchildren Ryan, Emily, and Destany. She is also survived be numerous nieces and nephews.
