Amelia
Arce
March 5, 1931 – November 25, 2022
Amelia Arce, age 91 passed peacefully into the arms of our Lord on November 25, 2022, at home in San Antonio, Texas with her family at her side.
She was born in Cotulla, Texas on March 5, 1931, to Leopoldo Dehoyos y Garza and Maria Amalia Sobrevilla y Perez.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband Robert Infante Arce and daughter Amelia Arce-Trevino. Also preceding her in death were her brothers Antonio and Leopoldo Garza, Luis, Juan and Raul Perez and sisters Hortencia, Paula, Emma and Elia Garza, and Maria Perez.
Those left to cherish her memory include her son Michael and her daughters Teresa Watson (David), Anna Maria Aaron (Mike), Laura Peche (Larry), Martha Tovar (Ralph), Elizabeth Martinez (David), and Veronica Longoria (Lauro), all from San Antonio, Texas.
A military wife who accompanied her husband on overseas tours to Spain and Germany, Amelia's greatest joy was her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Nothing gave her more pleasure than hosting family birthday and holiday parties at her rancho in Von Ormy, Texas. She loved being outdoors mowing and tending to her plants. Amelia was generous of heart, making donations to those less fortunate, sending meals to her parish priest and others in her community, and participating in social events at her church. The wisdom of a life well led was evident in the advice she freely shared, and her loving spirit will be remembered long after her passing.
Amelia leaves a legacy of 18 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, three generations of nieces and nephews, and a lifetime of friends.
Flowers can be delivered to St. Dominic Catholic Church.
