On September 7, 2021, Amelia Cardona Flores went to be with the Lord at the blessed age of 68. She was born in San Antonio Texas on February 1, 1953 to Luis and Julia Cardona. She retired from the Bexar County courthouse after nearly 30 years of service and loved what she did. She loved being a grandma and did it very well. She was strong in her faith and loved to serve people. Mellie always lent a helping hand and built several friendships throughout her life. She's survived by her children Ann Monic Tovar, Tony Cantu and wife Theresa; sisters Sylvia Ortegon, Belinda Guerrero and brother Luis Cardona Jr, and three step children, their spouses, multiple grandchildren and great grandchildren. She's preceded in death by her parents, her husband Manuel Flores her sons Able Rene Cantu, Manuel Jr and James Flores.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 23, 2021 from 4:30 PM until 8 PM with a Prayer Service at 6 PM at Castillo Mission Funeral Home. A procession will depart  Friday, September 24, 2021 at 7:45 AM for a 9 AM Graveside Service at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery.
