Angela Rodriguez
Esparza
March 25, 1924 – November 28, 2024
Angela Rodriguez Esparza passed away peacefully on November 28, 2024 on Thanksgiving day at the age of 100 years & 8 months old. She was surrounded by the warmth and love of her family. Angela was born on March 25, 1924 in Ciudad Acuna Coahuila, Mexico to Eulojio Rodriguez and Elena Puente. Her parents then moved her to Sonora, Texas where she grew up and worked in the fields picking cotton. She later met and married her love, Arturo A. Esparza in June 1945 who preceded her in death in April 1994.
Angela loved to dance all her life whether it be cumbia, polka, norteno, or tejano music. You would always catch her on the dance floor at any celebration. In her early years, she loved dancing to the jitterbug to her favorite song "In the Mood" by Glenn Miller. Angela enjoyed playing bingo and loteria. She also enjoyed sewing, reading the newspaper and playing crossword puzzles. She loved watching her evening novelas and every Saturday watching her favorite show "Sabado Gigante."
Angela was always there when you needed her offering advice, support, and love. She instilled good values in her three children and two grandchildren and was the family's matriarch. Angela was a very strong, tough, and amazing woman who triumphed over many health issues and surgeries throughout her life.
Angela is preceded in death by her two sons, Arthur A. Esparza and Armando B. Esparza. Angela is survived by her daughter Amada J. Esparza. She is the adored grandmother of Gilberta R. Contreras and John L. Contreras. Angela is also survived by her two sister in laws, Susie Rodriguez and Irene Esparza, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Nothing can fill the void that has been left by our beloved mother, grandmother. We are grateful to God for the gift of her life, her love, and her memories. She will continue to live in our hearts forever.
