Angela C. Martinez entered peacefully into eternity with our Lord on Thursday, March 30, 2023. She was surrounded by her family with prayers and a room full of love. Angela was preceded in death by her husband of sixty-four years, Raymond Martinez, her parents Antonio and Consuela Castillo, and younger brother Antonio Castillo, Jr.
Angela was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and a friend to all. She had a full career at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio as a supervisor of the Anesthesiology Billing Department. Following retirement, her focus shifted to St. Luke's Catholic Church, where she was a member of the Spanish Choir and regularly attended mass.
Angela is survived by her brother Jesse Castillo and sister (in-law) Mary Castillo; her sons, Raymond Martinez Jr., Richard Michael Martinez, David Anthony Martinez; daughters (in-law) Gloria S. Martinez and Elizabeth A. Martinez; grandchildren Miranda Rodriguez and husband Adam Rodriguez, Raymond Martinez III and wife Corrine Cassias, Amy Rubio and husband Adrian Rubio, Destiny Powell and husband Trey Powell, Marie Kirkpatrick and husband Sean Kirkpatrick, Christina Martinez and husband John Kriescher, Nicholas Martinez, and Riki Kay Martinez; and great grandchildren Eric, Mareck, Adrian, Chad, Annalia, Pyper, Averie, Blakely, Nathaniel, and Mitzi.
A Celebration of Life
Tuesday, April 11 – Visitation will be at 4 p.m. until 8 p.m., at the Castillo Funeral Home. The Rosary will be prayed at 6 p.m.
Wednesday, April 12 – Procession will depart from Castillo Funeral Home at 9:30 a.m. A Memorial Mass will be held at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 1321 El Paso Street, San Antonio, TX. Ennichement follows at San Fernando Cemetery II.
