Obituary

Anita Duron was called to Heaven on November 6, 2023, at the blessed age of 85. Anita was born on July 21, 1938, in Poteet, Texas to the late Domingo and Elvira Garcia. Anita was feisty, energetic, and full of sass! She loved to crochet and solve crossword puzzles in her spare time. She also enjoyed watching crime shows like Criminal Minds, Law and Order, and Investigation Discovery. She most of all loved her family. Anita was a stay-at-home mom who raised 5 children. Anita's favorite holiday was Thanksgiving and she enjoyed cooking and hosting Thanksgiving dinner at her home every year for her entire family. Anita always made sure everyone was super stuffed and had plenty of leftovers to take. Anita's loving and energetic spirit goes unmatched, and she will be dearly missed by those who knew her. Anita always put everyone else before herself. She is reunited in Heaven with her dearly departed husband of 20+ years Manuel Duron, her parents Domingo and Elvira, grandson Rudy Duron, Jr., sister Luisa Zertuche, and brothers Eloy, Alvarado, and Jesse Garcia. Anita leaves behind her daughters Melissa Ortiz (Gabriel) and Elvira Duron; grandchildren -Paulette Duron, Nikolette Duron and Omar Garza; great-grandson Noah Mata; sister Alicia Lopez, along with numerous extended family and friends. Visitation will take place on Monday, November 13, 2023, from 4:00pm until 8:00pm with a Rosary to begin at 6:00pm. Family and friends will depart at 9:15am on Tuesday, November 14, 2023, for an 10:00am Mass at Mission San Francisco De La Espada Catholic Church. Burial to follow at San Fernando Cemetery II.
