Anita
Johnson
September 19, 1944 – February 23, 2026
Anita "Anne" Johnson (Garcia), 81, entered her eternal reward on Monday, February 23, 2026, in San Antonio, Texas. Born on September 19, 1944, and a graduate of Edgewood High School c/o 1962- she lived a life marked by love, generosity, and dedication to her family and friends.
A vibrant and successful business owner, Anne was a retired hairdresser who left a lasting impression on those who worked for her at her salon. Her nurturing spirit extended beyond her professional life as she devoted herself to being a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend.
Anne found joy in crocheting blankets for her great-grandchildren, cooking meals for her family, and sharing laughter over games of Uno and Pokeno. She also enjoyed trips to Vegas and other casino towns.
Her selflessness and giving nature were evident in every aspect of her life. A woman of faith, she was a devoted member of St. Anthony Mary Claret Catholic Church.
She is survived by her beloved husband, James Johnson; her children: Teresa "Terri" (eldest daughter), Mark (son), Angela (youngest daughter), and Leslie (stepdaughter); seven grandchildren: Shadoe, Anne Marie, Shane, Kyle, Skyler, Dylan, Isabella; five great-grandchildren; and her siblings: Amelia Reed (eldest sister), Sylvia Fales (youngest sister), and Henry Garcia (eldest brother). She was predeceased by her parents, Leo and Esperanza Garcia.
Anne's memory will be cherished by all who knew her. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul at

May the legacy of love and warmth that Anne shared bring comfort to those who mourn her passing.
Let us pray:
"Eternal rest grant unto Anita Johnson, O Lord,
and let perpetual light shine upon her.
May her soul and the souls of all the faithful departed,
through the mercy of God, rest in peace.
Amen"
