Anita "Annie" Perez, after a long illness, was called home to be with our Lord on Sunday April 30th 2023, at the Blessed age of 88. She was born June 25th, 1934 in San Antonio, TX to Luisa and Francisco Riojas. At the time of death, she was at home surrounded by family. She is reunited with her devoted husband Rosalio "Chale" Perez, Parents: Luisa and Francisco Riojas, Siblings: Richard Riojas, Francisco Riojas, Aureliano Riojas and grandsons: Jesse Ollerbidez Jr. and Tomas Coca. She is survived by her Children: Maria Helen Silva, Yolanda Espinoza (Gilbert), Jerry Perez (Alexandra), Annabelle Martinez (John) Carlos Perez (Diane), Chadney Martinez (Manolito), Chadasy Silva, as well as 29 Grandchildren, 15 Great-grandchildren and Numerous Nieces and Nephews.
Annie met her soulmate "Chale" in grade school and was a loving wife for 60 blessed years, until his passing. She was a devoted wife, sister, mother, grandmother and friend to all who were blessed to have known her.
In her early years, she resided in West San Antonio with her adoring Spouse "Chale". Later in life she moved with her daughter and son-in-law Annabelle and John, grandchildren Ethan-John Matthew, Lillianna Rose and Fabian Martinez.
Annie stepped into raise her grandchildren, even though it was difficult situation, she was there for them. She was a loving and caring Aunt to her nieces and nephews, she cared and loved all, as if they were her own children.
Although Annie suffered from many health ailments, even with her recent cancer diagnosis, she had every right to cry, be upset or even fall into depression once she learned of this dreaded diagnosis. Instead, she loved and lived every moment she was given, neither hard times nor CANCER would rob our sweet mother of who she was. A very loving and caring mother, grandmother, aunt and friend.
Aside from enjoying family time, Annie's pastimes included making jewelry, trips to casinos, scratching lottery tickets and making surprise meals for her family. She also spent her days reading, a passion she came to enjoy daily. Annie had her own unique way of making her family feel loved and cared for.
Visitation will take place on Monday, May 15, 2023, at Castillo Funeral Home from 4:00pm until 8:00pm with a Rosary to begin at 6:00pm. Family and friends will depart at 11:30am on Tuesday, May 16, 2023 for a 12:00pm Mass at St. Timothy Catholic Church. Burial to follow at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery.
