Anita V. Garcia passed away peacefully on July 3, 2020 surrounded by the warmth and love of her family at the age of 81. Anita was born February 7, 1939 & raised in San Antonio, Texas, which she is preceded in death by her father Benito E. Vasquez, mother Anita D. Vasquez, and grandson Joe David Garcia.
Anita was educated by Texas Public Schools and later continued her education at San Antonio College & earned a degree in Child Education & business management. Anita worked various jobs throughout her young life and later dedicated over 15 years with Parent Child Inc.
Anita was a devoted mother first and foremost. She cherished her children and embraced every moment with them. She especially loved her role as Grandma & later GrandMoMo. Anita had a spirited personality and was the perfect combination of warmth, kindness, laughter & love. She made friends everywhere she went. She was a big fan of the San Antonio Spurs, loved eating ice cream in any weather, enjoyed her favorite movies Rise of the Guardians & Coco, loved all animals, and could talk hours about her favorite hobby, gardening. Most precious to Anita was her faith in God.
Anita will be missed immensely and loved by her sons & daughter Armando V. Garcia (Argelica); Mario V. Garcia; Mary Annette Garcia; Guadalupe Garcia; David M. Garcia (Diana); Joseph B. Garcia (Kristen), 13 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren, sisters Lydia Flores; Rita Medina (Carlos); Guadalupe Garcia (Santiago) and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family & friends.
