Anthony M.
Cmielewski
March 20, 1945 – February 25, 2023
Anthony M Cmielewski, aka Mr. Boogaloo of San Antonio Texas passed away peacefully, on February 25th 2023 at the age of 77 in San Antonio surrounded by family.
Anthony was born in San Antonio to his parents Sylvester Cmielewski and mother Guadalupe Martinez, on March 20th 1945. He was married to the love of his life, Paula H Cmielewski on October 9th for 36 years. He attended Burbank high School in San Antonio Texas.
Anthony was a very hardworking man. One of his many jobs that he held was at Turbine support where he worked for 27 years as a machinist and forklift operator until deciding to retire. Being the man that he was he wasn't able to sit idle and stay at home for too long so he worked as a chef At St. Anthony's Hotel under the direction of chef Bowers as well. He loved cooking and baking. We remember him cooking in the kitchen and he would use every single pot to make one complete meal. He love making tortillas but would have flower scattered all over the counter but everyone sure did enjoy his cooking.
Anthony was the one who was always wanted to make tamales around Christmas time and of course on Thanksgiving. He loved to stuff the turkey and help with all the trimmings and he made sure that we all had a good meal. After a while he went back to work as a machinist for RD manufacturers and work there a few years until he got his last job at Premier Emblem and Insignia which is a law enforcement supplier as a warehouse Foreman and custom assembler for metal rank insignia this was for police fire and Emergency Medical Support for 19 years.
He did customized work that took a lot of time and detail but he loved to do this and took pride in his work, as he would always say he wanted it to look as good as if he was the one going to wear it. Unfortunately his health deteriorated over the last 2 years so he was finally able to stay home and enjoy being able to do a little barbecuing and spur of the moment fishing trips. In the end his favorite pastime was going to the Kickapoo Casino where he always had a blast and seeing some car shows.
A Rosary and memorial will be held on Saturday March 4th, 2023 from 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., with a rosary to be recited at 2:00 p.m.
