Obituary

Antonio S. Alcocer Jr., a beloved husband, father, brother,grandfather, and veteran, passed away peacefully on May 20, 2026, at the age of 80. Born on July 30 in San Antonio, TX, to Mr.Antonio Sr and Mrs.Ignacia Alcocer, Antonio's life was marked by service, love, and dedication to his family and country. A proud graduate of Edgewood High School, he answered the call to duty, serving in both the Vietnam War and Operation Desert Storm (gulf war). His commitment to service continued after his military career, with many years spent working at Fort Sam Houston and the VA Addie Murphy Hospital. Antonio will be remembered for his passion for cars and crossword puzzles, listening to his oldies the joy he found in spending time with his grandkids, and his warm relationships with his nieces and nephews. He was a friend, uncle, father figure, a friendly neighbor, and the best grandfather anyone could ask for. He is loved and will be deeply missed by his wife and longtime partner, Andrea Alcocer; his sister, Guadalupe Ramirez; his daughter and son-in-law, Rosemary and Cesar Abrego; his son and daughter-in-law, Antonio III and Barbra Alcocer; and his cherished grandchildren: Amber A., Julio (J.C.) A., Allison A., Sabrina G., Miranda O., Brittney B., and Justice B. Great-grandchildren: Julius A., Anthony A., Jayde A., Izabella A., Sophia G., Michael T., Mariella T., and Mason T. Antonio was surrounded by loved ones during his final days and will be remembered as a strong, caring man with a great sense of humor. Our family is deeply grateful for the outpouring of support we've received during this difficult time.
