Antonio B Castro, 74, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 7, 2023, in San Antonio, Texas. He was born on February 12, 1948, in Austin Texas a son of the late Toribia Botello Castro and Patricio Castro Sr.
Antonio was a proud member of the United States Marine Corps from January 1966 to April 1969. He would often speak fondly of his time in service and how its shaped his life in the years beyond. He and his wife Lou Ann shared an unbreakable bond and everlasting love for each other. Together they are reunited in heaven and can watch the proud legacy of family they leave behind. In his free time, he enjoyed playing bingo, or taking a trip to the casino hoping to hit a jackpot. He liked to cruise around town enjoying the world around him always kind and friendly to those he encountered. A proud father, grandfather, and brother who will be remembered forever by those who knew him.
In addition to his wife Lou Ann Castro, he is also preceded in death by his sister, Victoria Estrada and brother, Gilberto Castro.
Family members include his son Robert Anthony Ancira Sr and stepson Authur Rene Rivera; grandchildren, Felicia Yvette Gonzales (David), Robert Anthony Ancira, Raymond Ancira (Valorie Alvarado), Jacob Anthony Sanchez, Xavier Rivera, and Sophia Rivera; great grandchildren, Robert Noel Ancira, Mariah Cassidy Ancira, Raymond Ancira Jr, David Gonzales Jr, Rosalie Yvette Gonzales, Harlow Kataleya Ancira, Valerie Gonzalez, Ezekiel Robert Ancira, Leo Reign Ancira, Jamison Bleu Ancira, Jazmine Diamond Ancira; siblings, Flora Ancira, Lupe Castro, Connie Moreno, Dolores Castro, Mary Alice Castro Fenton, Louis Castro, Patricio Castro Jr, and Ruben Castro; in addition to numerous extended family and friends.
The family will receive guests from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Monday, February 27, 2023, at Castillo Funeral Home for visitation. A rosary service begins at 6:00 pm.
A funeral mass will be conducted at 10:00 am on Tuesday, February 28, 2023, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church followed by a committal service with full military honors in Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery at 11:30 am.
