Obituary

It is with great sorrow; the Lopez family announces the passing of Antonio Lopez. He peacefully passed away on March 11 th , 2023, surrounded by his loving family. He was 86 years old and lived a long and full life. He was born in San Antonio, Texas on September 26 th , 1936, to Reyes Lopez and Candelaria Lopez. He grew up on the westside of San Antonio with his nine siblings and graduated from Fox Tech High school in 1957.

Tony was a proud veteran who enlisted after high school and served in the United States Marine Corp for three years. After being honorably discharged, he attended a trade school and became a certified painter. He worked as a professional painter for Fort Sam and the St. Anthony's Hotel for most of his life. In 1963, he married the love of his life Concha Macias Lopez. He later retired and enjoyed traveling and spending time with his family. He was a huge San Antonio Spurs and Washington Redskins fan and loved rooting against the Dallas Cowboys. He loved fishing, telling stories, working outdoors, and bbq'ing.

He was a devoted father, grandfather, and great grandfather. Tony left behind a legacy with generations to follow.

Tony is preceded in death by his wonderful daughter Lilly Lopez.

Tony is survived by his lovely wife and children; Cathy Resendez, Tommy Burum, Cynthia Morales, Gabriel Lopez, and Rachel Lopez-Mayfield, and grandchildren; Jaime, Joey, Jerry, Mara, Jasmine, Chelsie, Caesar, Nicole, Esmeralda, Oscar Jr., Gabriel Jr., Eric, Brandon, Amanda, Josh, Julian, and Lindsey, as well as great grandchildren, cousins, nieces, and nephews. He will be deeply missed, and his memory will last forever.
