Antonio D Rodriguez
January 3, 1950 - September 21, 2024
Antonio Diaz Rodriguez was born in San Antonio, Texas on January 3, 1950. He was 74 years old when he peacefully joined his grandparents, parents, siblings, nephews, and in-laws to follow his new journey on September 21, 2024.
Tony also known as "Chester" loved dancing and music. Him and his sister, "Mache" entered dance contests at the Edgewood Canteens. He loved all music, but often heard "ZZ Top" and "Los Dos Gilbertos". Tony loved fishing and going to drag races. His deepest love was driving 18-wheeler trucks. He drove throughout the United States as well as locally. He loved those trucks. When he wasn't driving them, he was washing, fixing, and cleaning them. That was one of his passionate, past times. He did it for 42 years, until he could not anymore.
He married Cathy and they shared 3 children. Their daughters Teresa, Maria, and son, Antonio, Jr. He loved having parties for them. Tony enjoyed barbequing at all times of the day or night. Tony loved doing that and had family members and friends over. Another joy Tony had was having his 9 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren around him. They seemed to bring out his gentleness, tenderness, and patience. He was so proud of them. He also has his sisters, Lola, Doris, Beatrice and brother, Gilbert, along with several nieces and nephews that he loved and cared for.
Tony will be remembered and missed so very much by all. We will miss his character, silliness, his barbequing, his laughter, and his love. Have a great journey.
