Obituary

Antonio was married for 58 years, & was a devoted, loving, loyal husband, enjoying 39 years with his beautiful bride, Irene, until her passing in 2007

Preceded in death by parents, Francisco Vargas, Cleofas Colunga Vargas, brother Guadalupe Vargas. Sisters Consuelo Martinez (Jesus) Yolanda Perales (Benito), Dolores Vargas Fuentes (Felix),and in law Domingo Perales. 

He leaves behind his only daughter, Priscilla A. Vargas, 3 grandchildren, John-Anthony, Kaedence and Lauren.  As well as living siblings, sister, Gloria Muniz(Rene) of Castroville, Texas, Beatrice Perales of Castroville, Texas, and brother Frank Vargas (Sylvia) of Michigan.

Survived by numerous nieces and nephews and great nephews and nieces whom he loved very much.

He graduated from Castroville High (1960). Antonio was in the US Army, and a member of the 82nd Airborne Division and later joined the 49th Armored Division, National Guard, serving his country for over 33 years. He later joined the Public Safety team, as a Field Training Officer with the SAPD, serving 20 years.

He enjoyed road trips, Texas barbeque and antiquing. Antonio was the best daddy and grandpa to his daughter, Priscilla Ann and three grandchildren, John-Anthony, Kaedence and Lauren.

He remained a devoted and loyal husband, loving father and grandfather.

He loved his entire extended family immensely. He will be greatly missed and fondly remembered.
