November 14, 1960 – October 10, 2022
Arcelia "Cindy" Nava Fonseca was called home at 61 years old on October 10, 2022 from cancer she fought bravely for five years.
Cindy had great strength and was a hard worker for many years at Pioneer Flour Mills and then the Bexar county jail.
She loved gambling whether slot machines or scratch off tickets. She was always ready for a trip to Kickapoo.
Cindy loved animals especially her late beloved dog Chico and her baby girl Greta. She always stopped to feed strays with dog food she kept in her trunk. She could never turn away a hungry animal.
Her faith was strong. She spent most of her time reading her Bible or watching Bible stories on tv. Though the cancer and pain slowed her body down, she was always quick witted and made sure her family was taken care of.
She is survived by her husband of 28 years David Fonseca, Her three children Jeanne Nava, Mario Nava Jr. (Susie), and Belen DeLaGarza as well as four grandchildren Gabriel, Justen, Amelie, and Gianna. Many brothers and sisters Felix Rodriguez (Ignacia), Raul Rodriguez (Tonia), Elida Hernandez(Juan), Maria Orosco (Robert),Beatrice Rodriguez(Roger), and Julian Rodriguez. She leaves behind brother in law Jim (Blanca) and sister in law Arlene (Paul). Cindy was also a beloved Aunt to many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents Alejandro Rodriguez and Englentina Luna as well as brothers Alex and Benny Rodriguez.
A funeral service will be held at Castillo Funeral Home located at 520 N General McMullen on Monday, October 24th; Viewing from 4pm to 8pm with a rosary from 6pm to 7pm.
Tuesday, October 25th there will be a 10am Mass at St. Margaret Mary located at 1314 Fair Ave.
There will be no procession please meet at Church.
