Obituary

Armando M. Alvarado
September 30, 1948 – December 10, 2024

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Armando M. Alvarado on December 10, 2024, at 7:50 PM at San Antonio Methodist Hospital. A proud Marine who served 18 months in Vietnam, Armando brought his dedication and resilience to every aspect of his life.

After his military service, Armando worked tirelessly for over 30 years with Southwestern Bell, providing for his beloved family with unwavering commitment.

A man of many talents, Armando was a natural marksman, an avid fisherman, and a gifted artist who loved to draw. In his younger years, he shared his love of music and tried his hand as a DJ at weddings, bringing joy to many. His proud, generous spirit and quick-witted humor made him unforgettable to all who knew him. While he could be rough around the edges, his kind heart and soft nature always shone through.

Armando is survived by his sons, Armando and Orlando; his cherished grandson, Gabriel; his brother, Tony; and his sisters, Melinda Ohler and Yolanda Garcia. He is reunited in peace with his beloved wife, Cristina, who passed in 2014, and his parents, Antonio and Dora.

A visitation and celebration of his life will be held at Castillo Funeral Home, located at 520 N General McMullen Drive, San Antonio, Texas. Details of the services will be announced soon.

In honor of his life and legacy, Armando will always be remembered as a man who loved deeply, laughed heartily, and lived with pride and purpose. Semper Fi, Armando—you will forever remain in our hearts.
