Armando Xavier Martinez passed away peacefully on July 12 ^th , 2022 at the age of 71 after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by loved ones who will continue to honor his legacy by living their lives to the fullest.

Born and raised in San Antonio Texas, on August 13 ^th 1950, to parents Irene A. Reyes and Armando C. Martinez, Armando was the oldest of 6 siblings. After graduating high school at Central Catholic High School in 1968, he enlisted in the United States Navy where he served with honor and great distinction, achieving the rank of Chief Petty Officer. During his 22 years of service, Armando completed multiple tours in countries around the world and served on the prestigious USS Jonas Ingram DD938, USS Edward McDonald FF 1043 and the USS Mississippi CGN40. In 1999 Armando met the love of his life, Alejandra Navarro Torres and within a year the two were happily married.

Armando is survived by his wife Alejandra B. Martinez, sons John Johnston married to Amber Johnston,  Armando X. Martinez III (Damaris Martinez); John M. Martinez and son Daniel A. Martinez. 2 brothers Antonio Martinez and David R. Martinez (Guadalupe Martinez); 4 sisters Anna L. Rodriguez (Carlos Rodriguez), Veronica C. Martinez (Gloria J. Martinez), Lisa S. Salazar, and Monica D. Martinez (Jose L. Ramirez); 7 Grandchildren Preston Sinclair (Stephine Sinclair), Kinsley, Jay, Thalia, Camila, Lucas and Ian Martinez.

Thank you for all the time, dedication, and love you gave throughout your life. You inspire us all to be part of something greater than ourselves. You will always live on through memories and will be greatly missed tremendously.
