Arturo G. Herrera passed away July 7, 2020, three days before his 71st birthday, in San Antonio, Texas,
his birthplace and hometown.
Arturo, born July 10, 1949, was a brother, father, grandfather, and cousin, who will be missed by his
family and friends and remembered as a fun-loving, humorous and caring person.
He is survived by Daughter Veronica H. Flores and granddaughters, Gabriella and Amelia; Son Arturo
Herrera Jr., wife, Nancy, and grandchildren: Lori, Noah, Nadia, Ariana, Mia and Sofia; companion, Maria
(Mali) Saenz; brother, Alex G. Herrera; and numerous cousins.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Herminia G. Herrera; aunts and uncles: Enriqueta and Guadalupe
Ramirez; Mary A. Garcia; Sofia and Rafael Hernandez; Aurora and Francisco Y. Perez; and Socorro and
Paul Medina.
At his request, his remains will be cremated and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
Always with an inquisitive mind, Arturo's curiosity with the world sometimes left his family laughing, at
other times got him into mischief, but the family and numerous memories would not be the same
without his boisterous spirit and loving presence. As the family grew, Arturo was always the one who
made an effort to stay in touch with everyone. Arturo was a retired truck driver who explored the world
this way and together with his longtime companion, Maria (Mali) Saenz, whom the family would like to
recognize and show our appreciation for as she cared for him from the time he first became ill until the
time of his death. The family will always be eternally grateful to her for her sacrifices to care for our
Arturo.
