Arturo V. Rios passed away peacefully on February 15, 2020, surrounded by the warmth and love of his family. He was 78 years old. He was born in San Antonio, Texas, on May 30, 1941 to his parents, the late Arturo and Lucia Alvarez.

Arturo served in the United States Navy assigned to the U.S.S. Kearsarge as a Petty Officer Second Class, and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He graduated from Edgewood High School in 1960. He married his high school sweetheart, Olga Vega, who proceeded him in death in 1993. He was a sheet metal repairman/mechanic for most of his life, and later retired as civil service to enjoy time with his sons and grandchildren. Arturo loved to travel and he treasured the beautiful memories he created with his family throughout his 78 years of his life. The welfare of his family was always foremost on his mind as he would avidly checkup on everyone, taking timeout to visit those who he could whenever as often as he could. He was big fan of the Dallas Cowboys, San Antonio Spurs, and loved watching WWE Smackdown. His hobbies were carpentry, wood work, ceramics, and loved Christmas as it brought him joy to see his sons and grandchildren all together.

Arturo is also preceded in death by his son Arturo Rios Jr. and sister Gloria Baker.  Arturo is loved and will be missed dearly by his Sons, Alexander Rios and wife Anna and Anthony Rios and wife Donna; Sister,  Louisa Sanchez; Grandchildren, Zandra L Rios, Desiree A. Delgado, husband Samuel Delgado, David Rios Jr, Michael M. Morales, Alycia M. Martinez, Trinity R. Rios, Alana P. Rios, Cassandra R. Rios, Ranger L.M. Grega; Great-Grandchildren, Brooklynn G Rios, Gabriel P. Rios, Eliana I. Delgado, Malachi J. Rios, Elyse A. Delgado, Alora H. Rios, Elias K Delgado, Kara S. Morales and numerous nephews and nieces.
