Obituary

Atanacio "Tony" Favela, age 9o, passed away on July 21, 2023 in San Antonio, Texas surrounded by his family, He was born on February 25, 1933, in San Antonio, Texas to Anastacio and Maria de Jesus Favela. Tony was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend.

Tony is survived by his beloved wife, Isabel C. Favela, his sons and daughters-in-law, Robert (Lupe) Favela and Danny (Melisa) Favela, and his daughter Alicia Favela-Blanco. He also leaves behind eight grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. Tony was a cherished brother to Eloisa (Nery) Rosas, and Rosa Hernandez, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Anastacio, his mother, Maria de Jesus, his brother, Carlos, and his sisters Lucia, Ernestina and Irene.

Tony had a passion for music, especially oldies and conjunto music. He enjoyed listening to anything with an accordion. In his free time, Tony loved to go fishing and share stories of his time spent in Wisconsin. He also had a deep appreciation for classic cars.

A visitation will be held on Monday, July 31, 2023, at Castillo Funeral Home located at 520 N. General McMullen in San Antonio, TX 78228 from 4:00pm-8:00pm. with a prayer service at 6:00pm. On Tuesday, August 1, 2023 a service will be held at 10:3oam at the Holy One Church located at 379 E Petaluma, San Antonio 78221. the funeral procession will depart Castillo Funeral Home at 10:00am, Interment will follow at First Memorial Park at 20567 TX-16, Von Ormy, TX, 78073.

Tony will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
