Aurora Campa
Howiatdost
September 19, 1948 – July 10, 2022
Aurora Campa Howiatdost went to be with the Lord on July 10, 2022, at the age of 73.
Aurora was born on September 19, 1948, in San Antonio Texas to the late Felipa and Faustino Campa. She grew up in a loving family, one of six. Aurora graduated from the University of the Incarnate Word with a bachelor's degree of science in Nursing. She dedicated her generous compassion for care and practical knowledge of nursing for twenty-three years serving as Registered Nurse with the Santa Rosa Hospital. Aurora would go on to serve fifteen years as a school nurse. She worked with, Loma Park, HK William, and Las Palmas Elementary schools during her tenure. She would officially retire after thirty-eight years as a healthcare provider. Aurora and her late husband Majid Howiatdost shared a forty-two-year adventure and marriage together. She helped shape her children, Lalo, Lori, Majid Jr., Ramin, and Lisa into genuinely wonderful individuals who will, sometimes without knowing, proudly carry on a legacy she now leaves behind.
Aurora enjoyed watching sports with family and friends, especially when her favorite teams the Texas Longhorns, Dallas Cowboys, and San Antonio Spurs were playing. She treasured each relationship she had with those who knew her, especially spending precious time with her grandchildren. Siblings of Aurora were with her from the very beginning in 1948 until her passing. She enjoyed playing casino games online with her sisters and especially their sibling trips to the casino. Aurora enjoyed the simple pleasures of life; great conversations, making someone smile, and feeling hopeful for the future of those she knew.
She inspired those around her to be better individuals. Her capacity for generosity knew no bounds. She was someone who would help anyone in need with support, encouragement, and guidance. Aurora loved when family and friends would get together. Those times exist in our memories and will be cherished forever. As the greatest role model we knew, she will be missed tremendously.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Majid Howiatdost and parents, Felipa and Faustino Campa, and brother Faustino Campa Jr.
She is survived by her children, Lalo Campa, Lori Campa, Majid Howiatdost Jr., Ramin Howiatdost, and Lisa Howiatdost; son-in-law, Javier Torres; seven grandchildren, sisters, Mary Guerra, Oralia Nunez, and Olga O'Campo; brothers, Richard Carrero and Robert Campa; in addition to numerous extended family and friends.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 16, 2022, at Castillo Funeral Home from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 3:00 pm. All services will conclude following Saturday's visitation.
