Muniz
January 23, 1947 – April 30, 2023
Beatrice, affectionately known as Bea and Bebo, was born on January 23,1947 in San Antonio, Texas. Beatrice was a graduate of Edgewood High School, class of 1965. She attended St. Philip's College for a short time. She loved to read and enjoyed writing. She once wrote a children's short story about a fire-breathing dragon who wanted to eat ice cream. She later went on to work for Sonitrol Security Systems where she worked for nearly 20 years as a security systems monitor.
Beatrice loved and admired her husband. They met when she was 14 years old and he 16 years old and had a great love story that many aspire to have. They were married for 57 years and hardly ever spent a night apart.She was greatly saddened by his death,
Beatrice was a wonderful mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was loved by everyone who met her. She was kind and loving with her grandchildren and great grandchildren and was always sure to remind them how much she loved them. We will miss her hugs and her "I love yous".
She is survived by her only daughter Yvonne Christina Muniz-Avila and son-in-law Jeffrey Avila. Grandchildren, Audry'le Rodriguez (Marco), Geoffrey'le Avila (Magdalena), and Ezra Alejandro Avila; great grandchildren, Jordan Medrano, Sofia Avila, Michael Rodriguez, Analisa Rodriguez, Geoffrey'le Avila Jr., and Alec Avila. She is also survived by numerous nephews and nieces.
Beatrice is preceded in death by her husband, Alejandro P. Muniz Jr., Her parents, Aurelio and Sabina Jimenez and sisters, Soccoro Garrington and San Juanita "Janie" Mendoza.
The family would like to express their gratitude to her provider, Beatrice Ochoa for the loving care she provided.
A funeral mass will take place on Thursday, June 8, 2023 at 10:30am at St. Jude Catholic Church, 130 S. San Augustine, San Antonio, Texas 78237. A graveside service will take place Thursday, June 8, 2023 at 1:00 pm at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery Shelter #1.
