Beatrice Gamboa Villarreal, a cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister,
peacefully departed this world on February 20, 2024 in San Antonio, Texas, surrounded by her
loving family. Born on February 17, 1933, in San Antonio, she was the eleventh of thirteen
children.
Bea, a devout member of St. Stephen's Catholic Church, married her childhood sweetheart,
Fernando Villarreal Sr. She took pride in her thirty year career at Kelly AFB, breaking barriers
during a time when few women pursued work outside the home. A proud matriarch, Bea found
joy in her roles as a dedicated Spurs fan, mother, and grandmother.
Survived by her children and their spouses: Rose Ann Guadiano (Carlos), Fernando Jr. (Gracie),
Daniel Sr. (Laura), Sandra, and Valerie Michelson (Ben), along with fifteen grandchildren, ten
great-grandchildren, and one on the way, Bea's legacy is a testament to her enduring love and
strength.
Visitation at Castillo Funeral Home on March 7th from 4:00-8:00 pm, with a rosary at 6:00 pm.
A mass will be held on March 8, 2024, at 10:00 am, at St. John Berchmans Church. Bea will be
deeply missed, but her legacy will live on in our hearts.
