Obituary

Benito V. Lopez was welcomed into the kingdom of Heaven with his beautiful smile on October 6, 2022 at the age of 84 years old with his family by his side.  He was born in San Antonio, Texas on October 19, 1937.  Benito graduated from Edgewood High School and studied electronic technician at Durham College in 1957.  He valued hard work and was a great example to many about the importance of values and responsibility.  He was loved by those who worked with him at Joske's Downtown and Montgomery Wards as a TV technician.  His last workplace was at San Antonio Hope Center.  They quickly admired his work ethics and commitment.

He enjoyed watching sports, such as boxing, football and basketball.  He was a great fan of the Cowboys and Spurs (Benito was so happy that the Cowboys won the past two games he watched).  He loved to spend time with his son and daughter-in-law watching sports.  Benny and his son-in-law, would often relax to watch Spanish classical movies like, Cantinflas. He loved sitting around the table with his wife, son, daughter, and granddaughters enjoying his wife's meals.  Benito treasured the 50's era and would often say, "those were the good old days!"  He and his wife were very involved with their granddaughters and their god children.  Benito and his beloved wife were married 60 years.  Together they lived a beautiful life full of great memories and challenging ones.  They exemplified the importance of love and devotion.

Benito is survived by his wife, Rosa; Children: Rosemary (Daniel) Hernandez, Benito Jr. (Macy) Lopez, Grandchildren: Esmeralda (Andre) Aldaco, and Miranda Rose, Brothers: Jesse V. (Enriqueta) Lopez, and Javier (Josie) Lopez.

He is preceded in death by his parents:  Benito G. and Maria V. Lopez, Brothers: Pedro and Martin, Sisters: Rosa, Beatriz, and Juanita.

Join us for the viewing on October 18, 2022 at 3:30pm-8pm and a service at 6pm- 8pm at Castillo Funeral Home located at 520 N. General McMullen, SA 78228.  The burial will be on Wednesday, October 19 from 10am-10:30am at Castillo Funeral Home then to the burial site, San Fernando #2 on Castroville Road.
