Rivas, Jr.
September 6, 1961 – October 31, 2022
It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Benito (Bol) Rivas Jr. He was called home by the Lord on October 31, 2022 at the age of 61. He was born in San Antonio, Texas. He is preceded in death by his father, Benito Rivas Sr.; Step father, David E. Becerra; Nephews, Moses and Abel Carrasco; Niece, Yvonne Marie Zavala. He is survived by his loving mother, Reubina F. Becerra; sisters, Martha Rivas-Maldonado (Ben), Alice Rea (Genaro), Diana Rivas, Mary H. Becerra-Cruz (Martin), Rachel B. Garza (Rudy), and Ruby Tavitas (Geno); children, Benny Hernandez, Juan Casillas, Christopher Maciel, Rachel Rivas Sanchez, and Benito Rivas Jr.; grandchildren, Michelle Guadalupe, Irma Mackenzie, Matthew Angel, Isabella Angel, Juan Angel Jr., Blaine Angel Leroy, Alaric Angel; nephews, Richard Jr., Joe Daniel, Joe Jesse, Alexander, Luis, Xavier, Moses, David; nieces, Roseanne, Reubina, and Hailey. Benito (Bol) is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, great nephews and nieces, cousins (especially best friend/partner in crime Pete Ramirez) and friends. Benito (Bol) was disabled but in his younger years, he worked for Summit Select Resources, Pipe / Pump lines, City of San Antonio, Tower of Americas, horse stables at Brack, Kendrick's BBQ. Bol has been a master of all trades for many years. Bol has worked in HVAC, mechanics, plumbing, landscaping, etc. He was never afraid to get his hands dirty. He was a true manly man. Bol enjoyed helping his family, friends, and community. He was proud to lend a hand. He always came to the rescue for his family, etc. He loved Rock-N-Roll. He enjoyed fishing, dancing, football, BBQ'n, but most of all family time. He definitely had a sweet tooth. He loved ice cream, cookies, and candies. He also enjoyed adult beverages on a hot summer day while relaxing at the lake. He loved his Cadillac's and cherry bomb trucks. The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 12 th 1:00-5:00 p.m. and on Sunday, November 13 th 2:30-8:00 p.m. at Castillo Funeral Home on General McMullen. A Rosary will be recited Sunday November 13 th @ 6:00 p.m. Procession will depart Castillo Funeral Home on Monday November 14th at 9:30 a.m. for a 10:00 a.m. mass at St. Agnes Catholic Church (829 Ruiz St). Interment will follow in San Fernando II Cemetery (746 Castroville Rd).
