Bennie Sanchez passed away peacefully on May 21, 2024 surrounded by the warmth and love of his family. He was 67 years old. He was born in San Antonio, Texas on June 24, 1956. Bennie worked for the City of San Antonio in the Parks and Recreation Department until he retired in 2018. He was known for his Rico Suave style and charismatic humor. His passion in life was riding his Harley Davidson. Bennie also enjoyed driving fast in his Chevrolet Camaro. He is preceded in death by his father, Bennio Sanchez and his sister Olga Sanchez.
He will be missed tremendously by his two brothers, Robert and Richard Sanchez and his sister, Bertha Rippy as well as his two sons, Andy Mora and Corey Sanchez; eight grandchildren, Desare Sanchez (21), Corey Sanchez, Jr. (20), Henesi Mora (18), Serenity Mora (17), Mia Mora (16), Nevaeh Mora (15), Delica Mora (12) and Kimbella Mora (10); nieces, Mary Adame, Angelica Sanchez and Ashley Penniston as well as extended family and many friends.

Visitation to take place at Castillo Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 28, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a Rosary to begin at 6:00 p.m. Family and friends will depart  in procession on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, after a 10:00 a.m. Chapel Service at Castillo Funeral Home. Burial to follow at San Fernando Cemetery III.
