Bernabe Ramos Celestino went to be with the Lord on May 31, 2021. He was born on June 11, 1934 in Carrizal, San Luis Potosi to Diego & Maria Magdalena Celestino as one of 6 siblings. He met Maria Madgalena "Maggie" Herrera and they were married on June 12, 1960. 6 years later they were blessed with their first child and only daughter, Rosemary. in 1972, they were blessed with their only son, Mark. He spent a lifetime of a career as a butcher in San Antonio and was known to his friends and acquaintances as Benny. He enjoyed attending baseball games, having attended the SA Dodgers games when they played at V.J. Keefe Memorial Stadium. He is known as resilient, tough and almost invincible as having been diagnosed, fought and won his battle against kidney cancer in 2010.
Benny loved to barbecue, something he was known for with family birthdays and holidays. He loved baseball, especially the Houston Astros and was always watching baseball at home. He enjoyed watching Walker, Texas Ranger, westerns and religious movies; playing outside with his great-grandson, Noah; listening to music on his record player and he was a devout member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 60 years, Maggie; his daughter Rosemary and husband, John; son Mark and his wife, Lupita; granddaughter, Krystle; great grandson Noah and a host of extended family and friends
