Obituary

Blas Reynaldo Perez "Ray" entered eternal rest on Friday, Monday 11, 2021 at the blessed age of 73. He was born February 3, 1947 in Edinburg, TX to Andres and Nicholasa Perez. He attended Saginaw High in Saginaw Michigan, but was drafted before graduation and was shipped to Vietnam in 1967 . He served in the United States Army and went to war for our country in Vietnam. He was wounded two times but bravely fought until his time was fulfilled. He was awarded the Purple heart as well as other medals and was proud to have served his country.
He was also employed with General Motors and worked as a set up man for 25 years until he was retired.
He is reunited in heaven with his parents; sisters Candelaria "Cande" Garza, Aurora Jimenez, Evangelina "Eva" Nieto.
He is loved and will be greatly missed by his beloved wife of 47 years Genevieve Perez; daughter Isabel Perez; brothers Leodoro "LoLo" Perez & Wife Peggy, Raul Perez & Wife Delores; three other Brother in laws & three other sister in laws as well as nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins & friends.
He loved to hunt, fish, go camping, travel, cleaning his truck, being in the yard either maintaining it or sitting and enjoying the weather and watching the birds. He Truly loved Ranchera music & could sit for hours listening. Ray loved life, new experiences & seeing new places. As he got older he took much enjoyment with spending time with his wife & would still hold her hand as they sat and talked. He was the strong silent type always putting his wife & daughter first ahead of his own needs.
Heaven has gained a treasured soul. He will live forever in our hearts.
