Candelario "Cande" Flores passed away peacefully on March 28, 2026, at the age of 77. Born on May 12, 1948, in Harlingen, Texas, Cande lived a life defined by hard work, strong values, and deep love for his family.

He spent most of his life in Austin, Texas, before moving to San Antonio six years ago, where he lived with his son Arturo and daughter-in-law Laura. Cande was a man who loved being outdoors and took pride in living life his way. He often held onto his old ways, something that made him both unique and admirable. Though he could be stubborn at times, he was also deeply loving, and those closest to him knew the strength of his heart.

Cande was preceded in death by his son, Candelario Jr.; his mother; and his sister.

He is survived by his children: Henry (Petra), Arturo (Laura), Juana, and Letty (Greg); as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren who will continue to carry on his legacy.

Cande will be remembered for his strength, his independence, and the love he had for his family. His presence will be deeply missed, but his memory will live on in the lives of those who knew and loved him.
