Carlos Antonio
Alvarado
December 26, 1944 – August 26, 2021
Carlos Antonio Alvarado, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle, was called home to our Lord, August 26, 2021, at the age of 76. Carlos was preceded in death by his mother, Amparo Alvarado; his aunt, Christella "Munchie" Moreno; his brother Felix "Chato" Alvarado; and his half-sister Alda Martin. Carlos, a San Antonio native, was born on December 26, 1944. He graduated from Central Catholic High School Class of 1962. Carlos lived a full life of consuming passions that encompassed family, lifelong friends, hosting annual holiday parties, organizing fundraisers when someone was in need, enjoying his role as a father figure to many and expressing a deep appreciation for oldies music, great tasting food, having a good time and always celebrating life to the fullest. At a young age, he started a career as a butcher at Handy Andy, then became a meat market manager at HEB, and later was self-employed and the proud owner of Adams Meat Market in Helotes, Texas. A long-time entrepreneur and caterer, Carlos also owned and operated Catering by Carlos and Fox Courier, and truly enjoyed planning special events, cooking, grilling, and meeting new people during his many deliveries.
Carlos is survived by his wife, Debra Alvarado; daughters; Teresa Alvarado, Rita Frascone Alvarado and her wife Danielle, Grace Villarreal and her husband David; stepson, David Castro III and his wife Erica; stepdaughter Darlene Castro; grandchildren Nicole Regalado, Zach Villarreal, Rhapsody and Soleil Castro; sister Rose Marie Cortinas; brothers Mike Alvarado Sr. and Victor Alvarado Sr.; numerous nieces, nephews, and many, many longtime and dedicated friends. He will be greatly missed and forever remain in our hearts.
Special thanks to the staff at Crest Palliative Care, Father Inna of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, his eldest daughter Teresa and his devoted wife Debra, for providing him with comfort and solace during his final days in hospice and ensuring he transitioned peacefully and gently into the arms of our Lord.
