Carlos Zalapa Cruz, 72, was born on December 29, 1951, in San Antonio, Texas, to the late Evangelina Zalapa Cruz and Dan Cruz. He passed away on Tuesday, April 16, 2024, at the Methodist Hospital Metropolitan in San Antonio, Texas.

He is survived by his wife, Dorienela Cruz; daughters Denise Cruz and Theresa Cruz; stepdaughters Dioconda I Rollo, Yaira Yebel Saldaña, Miosotis I Moses; stepson Luis A Saldaña; and his sister Sandra Berry.

Carlos proudly served in the Navy. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Visitation will be held at Castillo Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 30, 2024, from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Carlos will receive military honors rendered by the United States Navy at 5 p.m then a Rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. Services will conclude that evening with cremation to follow at a later date.
