It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that our dearly beloved Carlos A. Plata, 43, unexpectedly passed away on January 22, 2022 in his home in Philadelphia, Pa. Our lives will always have a missing piece without him. He was preceded in death by his loving mother Patricia Plata and nephew Javier Plata Jr.
C arlos is survived by many family members; first by the love of his life Joy Plata, and their three children Noah, Joshua, and Wiley. His Father Javier Sr., wife Norma, brothers Javier Jr. & Ricardo, Javier Cecilio, Freddy and sisters Monica(Alfred), Vanessa(Chris), Fabiola, and Dayanna, nieces and nephews Gabriella, Brenna(Stephen), Quintin(Marissa), Ricardo, Joseph, Hunter, Angelica(Juan), Acacia, Nathan, Ricardo(Alisha), Joseph(Samantha), Hunter, Josiah, Joaquin, Patricia and Jacob and many aunts and uncles & cousins.
Carlos was born on June 24, 1978 and raised in San Antonio, Texas. He attended John Marshall High School '97 & went to college at The University of Texas at Austin. Moved to Philadelphia as an adult, and was a remarkable chef in the culinary industry.
He always wished everybody well. He treasured the colorful memories he created with his family and friends throughout his life. He was a huge fan of the Spurs & Eagles. He was a colossal movie buff, had an eclectic choice in music, had a dynamic way of expressing himself through cuisine that you didn't know your palate needed. He always left you with a chunk of philosophy.
He will be missed tremendously and will always be in our hearts! May he rest in peace with our heavenly father! In true Carlos fashion he'd say, "Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free."
