Carlota Ortiz

Carlota Ortiz, 84, of San Antonio, passed peacefully into the arms of her Heavenly Father on April 23, 2026, surrounded by the loving warmth of her family. Born May 23, 1941, in Runge, TX, Carlota’s greatest joy was her family; she nurtured, laughed with, and loved generations who will carry her memory forward.

She is lovingly remembered by her sisters, Alma Alvarado and Juana Tello; brother, Richard Chapa; her children, Joann Ortiz, Miranda (Johnny) Zuniga, Patricia Rodriguez, Albert Ortiz Jr. (Ida), Sylvia (Steve) Valdez, Monica (Roger) Rodriguez, Ricky Ortiz, and Cynthia Martinez; 24 grandchildren; 48 great‑grandchildren; and 7 great‑great‑grandchildren. Her family’s gatherings, stories, and faithful spirit were the heart of her life.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, beginning at 4:00 PM at Castillo Funeral Home, with a Prayer Service at 6:00 PM. Cremation will take place at a later time. Messages of condolence and flowers may be sent to Castillo Funeral Home on N. General McMullen.
