Mrs. Carmen B. Silva passed away peacefully on Sunday November 13, 2022 at age 95 , surrounded by the warmth and love of her family. She was born in Buena Vista, Villa Juarez S.L.P.. Mexico, on April 21, 1927. Mrs. Silva came to Texas at the age of 16 with her husband Refugio, where they started their family of 15 children. She raised them to the best of her ability and with lots of love. She cherished her 33 grandchildren, 66 great-grandchildren, and 18 great great- grandchildren. Mrs. Silva was always busy, earning her the nickname energizer bunny. She loved working on her beautiful garden during her free time. Carmen is preceded in death by her husband Refugio R. Silva; her daughters Angelita, Elisa, Leticia;her son Domingo; her grandchildren, David Anthony Silva, Lorraine Silva, Josiah Chacon; her sisters Catalina, Maria Banda and Dominga Banda; brother Lauro Banda;  and her parents Maria Luisa Galvan and Odilon Banda. Carmen is loved and will be missed by her children and their family: Mario B. Silva, Isidro and Gloria Silva, Refugio B. Silva and Diana Esquivel, Lisa and Jesse Arriola, Juan and Linda Silva, Estella and Michael A. Martinez, Irma and Joe Bermudez, Yolanda and Jesse Noriega Rachel B. Silva and Louie Rodriguez, Diana B. Silva, and Sylvia and Victor Chacon; and her brother Angel Banda.

Visitation will take place at Castillo Funeral Home on Tuesday, November 22, 2022 from 3:30pm until 8:00pm with a Rosary to begin at 6:00pm. Family and friends will depart from the funeral home at 9:30am for a Mass at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church at 10:00am. Burial to follow at San Fernando Cemetery II.
