Carmen De Leon, 96, passed away peacefully on September 22, 2026, leaving behind a beautiful legacy that spanned nearly a century.

Carmen’s remarkable journey began in Corpus Christi, Texas, on March 2, 1930. She later made San Antonio her home, a city she proudly called her own and where she built a life rooted in love, strength, faith, and unwavering grace.

Throughout her life, Carmen’s Christian faith was her source of strength, comfort, and joy. She cherished her church family and found immense happiness in speaking with others about her faith and sharing the love of Christ. She witnessed not only through her words, but through the way she lived—with compassion, perseverance, kindness, and an unwavering love for God and family.

Carmen’s greatest accomplishment and deepest joy was her family. She loved her son and the beautiful family he built with all her heart, surrounding them with a lifetime of love, support, prayers, and affection. Her presence was a steady source of warmth and strength to those she held dear.

Carmen was preceded in death and lovingly reunited in heaven with her beloved husband, Teodoro De Leon; her son, Roger De Leon; and her daughter-in-love, Alice De Leon.

Her love and legacy will continue to live on through her granddaughters, Marisela Delgado (David) and Sonia De Leon; her great-grandchildren, Jacob Rivera, Justin Rivera, Angelina Delgado, Alycia Delgado, Caleb Delgado, Ava Delgado, and Joel Delgado; and her great-great-grandchildren, Theodore Rivera, Addison Rivera, and Melani Delgado.

Until Her Last Breath

There is something especially beautiful about the way Carmen’s earthly journey came to an end.

Carmen passed away at 3:16 am.

For a woman whose life was deeply rooted in her Christian faith, the time of her passing carries a profound and precious meaning. John 3:16 speaks of the greatest love—the love of God given through His Son:

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
