Obituary

Carolina De Leon Gil has entered into eternal rest on April 17, 2026, leaving behind a beautiful legacy of strength, faith, and a love that will continue to live on in her family’s hearts forever. Born on August 25, 1936, her life was marked by resilience, grace, and so much strength.

From a young age, she experienced deep loss when her mother passed away when she was just 9 years old. She and her siblings were then raised by their devoted father. Even though love wasn’t always spoken out loud, it was shown through his hard work, sacrifice, and the way he provided for them. Those early years shaped Carolina into the strong, compassionate, and loving woman she became.

She later met her beloved husband, Apolonio (Paul) Rodriguez Gil, in the neighborhood where they both grew up. From that simple beginning, a lifelong love story began. They were married on February 9, 1952, and would have been married for 74 years this year. Together, they built a life rooted in faith, love, and family. Through every season of life, they stood side by side and created a foundation that continues to bless generations today.

Carolina loved and served the Lord faithfully for 46 years at St. Gabriel’s Church. Her faith was steady and real, she prayed through everything and trusted God no matter what she faced. She carried that love of God into the way she treated others, always caring, always giving, always loving.

Together, they raised nine children, six daughters: Beatrice (son in law Javier), Diana, Alicia, Betty, Norma, and Carrie (Shawn); and three sons: Paul, and twins Raul and Saul. From there came 20 grandchildren, over 60 great-grandchildren, and 20 great-great-grandchildren. Her life is truly a legacy that continues on through every single one of them.

She will be deeply missed, and her absence will be felt in the quiet moments and in all the little places she used to fill so naturally. But her love doesn’t end here, it lives on in all of us.

May she rest in eternal peace with the Lord she served so faithfully. Her love was the kind that made you feel safe, comforted, and deeply cared for and that’s something that will never fade.
