Carolina N. Torres, age 95, was called into eternal rest on the 19th day of April 2021. She was born on the 22nd day of March 1926 in Naranjo, TX to her father, Ernesto Niaves and her mother, Isabel Garcia. She is preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Eliseo Torres; her sons, Rudy, Richard, Eliseo Jr. and her daughter, Mona. She is survived by her daughters, Ermina (Robert), Elva, Mary, Sylvia (Francisco), Isabel and Alice; 36 grandchildren, 91 great-grandchildren, 68 great-great grandchildren and one great-great-great grandchild. Carolina and Eliseo married in 1943 and raised 10 children. They built a life together as migrant farm workers, often traveling with their children to and from the Midwest for "los trabajos". They worked hard and instilled a strong work ethic in their children. At 55 years of age, Carolina had a radical encounter with Jesus Christ and surrendered her life to Him. She became an active member in her congregation; serving as a greeter, an usher, a server of the holy communion and a mighty prayer warrior. She was known to have a unique sense of fashion, usually sporting clothing, hats and sunglasses with lots of bling. She also had a knack for business, frequently buying and selling items at yard sales, flea markets and thrift shops. The legacy she leaves behind is one of great faith, hard work and perseverance. Carolina's prayer and desire for her children and all generations is to love the Lord, to praise Him and to serve Him all the days of their lives.
