Celia M.
Guillen
February 19, 1934 – November 28, 2021
Celia "Chelo" Guillen passed away Sunday, November 28, 2021, at the age of 87. She was born in San Antonio, TX to Juan & Juanita Maldonado in addition to numerous siblings. Celia was preceded in death by her husband Juan Guillen, parents & siblings. Celia is lovingly remembered by her son Mario Guillen and his wife Sandra, her daughter Sandra Gonzalez & husband Noe, five grandchildren; Hilary, Celeste, Chelsea, Ethan & Faith and three great grandchildren; Joaquin, Camila & Leo.
Celia was a lifelong member of the Westside community where she raised her children and perfected her cooking skills. She enjoyed making tamales, menudo, mole & albondigas. She appreciated the small things in life such as a tidy home and visits from her family. She loved Jesus and devoted her life to prayer and the care of her children & grandchildren. Every morning she spoke with her children and grandchildren on the phone, assuring herself that everyone had their lunch and coffee prepared for the day before ending the call with a reminder that she loved them so much. Even in her last days and hours, she offered messages of love and concern for her family. Celia spent her life ensuring family and friends that she would always be there to offer prayer while promoting positive outcomes of all situations. "You have to believe." Her prayers were always powerful and filled with energy, sure to leave you feeling as if everything would be just fine. With that being said, there is no doubt we have a special angel watching over us.
